Use Case A: View valuation of equities
STAKEHOLDER: Fund Manager
PRECONDITION: Fund Manager logs into the system
POSTCONDITION:
TRIGGER: Fund Manager selects to view the current equity price
BASIC FLOW:
1. Fund Manager select the equity he wish to view in a combo box
2. Refer to Use Case ‘Update equity price’
3. System will display the updated pricing of the equity
4. The Use Case ends when Fund Manager log out of the system
EXTENSIONS:
Use Case B: Update equity prices
STAKEHOLDER: External equity database, Fund Manager
PRE CONDITION: View Update Equity
POST CONDITION: Successfully download the equity price
TRIGGER: When Fund Manager select the equity he wishes to view
BASIC FLOW:
1. The system will send a request to connect to the external equity database
2. The system will download the current equity pricing from the database
EXTENSION:
1a. The system will try 2 more times to connect to the external equity database, and if it succeeds, the use case continues.
1b. The system will prompt the Fund Manager the connection error message.
Use Case C: View Portfolio
STAKEHOLDER: External equity database, Fund Manager
PRE CONDITION: Fund Manager log into the system
POST CONDITION:
TRIGGER: When Fund Manager selects to view his equities on hand
BASIC FLOW:
1. Refer to Use Case Update Equity Price
2. Refer to Use Case Order Status
3. The system will display all the equities that the Fund Manager has and his current order status.
4. The Use Case will end when the Fund Manager logs out of the system.
EXTENSION:
Use Case D: Place Order
STAKEHOLDER: Fund Manager, Broker
PRE CONDITION: Fund Manager logs into the system
POST CONDITION: Order will be send to the Broker
TRIGGER: When Fund Manager selects to place order
BASIC FLOW:
1. Fund Manager will place orders to Broker
2. Refer to Use Case ‘Order Status’
3. The Use Case will end when the Fund Manager logs out of the system.
EXTENSIONS:
Use Case E: Order status
STAKEHOLDER: Fund Manager, Broker
PRE CONDITION: Use Case Place Order
POST CONDITION: Order will be send to the Broker
TRIGGER: When receive order from Fund Manager or Broker select to view the order.
BASIC FLOW:
1. Broker clicks on view orders
2. The system will display the orders to the Broker
3. Use Case ends when Broker log out of the system
EXTENSIONS:
2a. Broker clicks on a check box to modify order’s status.
2b. Broker clicks on update status to save the updated orders.
